We are Bhavishyath Counselling, an NGO working in the career guidance and counselling space in India. Our fieldwork is in Andhra Pradesh but we also do online sessions, create IT tools for career counselling and other eclectic projects.
We are looking to hire a full-time person to work on communications. Ideally we want someone who can look at communication across the organisation and across media and audiences, and align all of it to bring maximum value to our work. Specific tasks include:
- managing our social media presence
- editing film footage from online sessions to put up on YouTube
- putting together the annual report and funding proposals
- writing short updates and reflections about our work, facilitating team members writing
- writing the Board Meeting minutes
- maintaining the website
- training team members in writing, presentation etc.
- conducting online sessions on English for students
You may have to outsource some of the other tasks and manage getting them done by others.
This is a full-time role for someone with good to very good English skills. Speaking Telugu is required, writing Telugu is a plus. The work can be done remotely with occasional travel to our field locations, primarily in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. If you are keen on understanding field work in a rural district, we would love for you to work out of Anantapur.
If we do not find the right candidate we will hire someone who does not know Telugu, however such a role will not be full-time.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters in any area. Freshers can apply but we would prefer those with some communication experience The ideal candidate would be able to think about communications across the organisation, not just perform specific tasks.
Relevant Skills – Some or all of:
Movie editing, document designing, poster making, facilitating online sessions. Writing and editing full reports as well as short pieces. Language skills as mentioned above. Internet research. No serious technology skills required, but ability to learn new tools as needed
We can be demanding in our work requirement and we are looking for a no-nonsense, results-oriented person. We encourage you to apply if the role seems great but above your level. Maybe we’ll decide that you can grow into it? We are open to people without development sector experience who want to transition. There will be a probation period of 6 months.
Salary:
20-35K a month depending on ability
